I was up early as I knew that I had to be at the Car Rental by 10:30 am and it was a half hour drive on Hwy 290 through Dripping Springs. We went out for that first walk and wandered around on the outside roads as well as within the campground. It was a very pleasant day with the sun shining and giving off some warmth to combat the chill of the wind. I think we can safely assume that summer is over, and we are into Fall.
Back in the RV, I had a quick breakfast after feeding the dogs although both did not eat until later in the day.
By then, it was time to leave, and I drove the 25 miles to the repair shop and handed over the car. Then I went next door and managed to rent a car for the two weeks that I thought the Jeep repair would take. It is very convenient to have both places next door to each other.
With the paperwork taken care of, I drove the new, to me, car back to the RV Park and had to put up with some friendly ribbing from Daniel. Unless something changes, the Rental car will sit most of the time and only getting used for the occasional trip to HEB.
I took the dogs walking around the park before settling down to work on the blog. After the flurry of excitement with picking up the car, things have slipped into the usual quiet days that I enjoy so much. I worked on the blog bringing it up to date.
I got a text message from Peggy telling me to “Come over to the Breakroom to eat”. I took the dogs out for a short walk and then put them back in the RV. I wandered over to the Breakroom and the whole gang was there including the new couple and their daughter that had pulled in a couple of days ago, next to BJ and Peggy. The place was a hive of activity with some people eating, others serving food and even a couple just talking.
As usual, the food was very good and there was a lot of it. Enough that anyone that wanted too, could go back for seconds or even thirds. I limited myself to one small plateful and took my time in eating it, washing it down with a beer. As usual, there was a lot of conversation and some pretty wild jokes to keep us amused.
Eventually, we all went back to our RV’s as the day slowly came to an end.
