I awoke in the middle of the night with bad stomach cramps and made a mad dash to the toilet to get there just in time. For some reason, I had a really bad attack of diarrhea. I have no idea what brought it on, something I ate or drank no doubt. I managed to drop back off to sleep and the only reason for that was that I had nothing left in my stomach.
When I awoke this morning, my stomach was still a bit upset but not so bad that I had to sit on the john for half a day. I dressed warmly as it was cold outside although not yet below freezing, which we have forecast for the weekend and went outside to work on the bird feeders.
After I had them all filled and situated, I harnessed up the dogs and we went out walking the park. As usual, it was not too bad in the sun but quite nippy in the shade. We managed to cover 8/10 of a of a mile before heading back to The Caboose. It was actually warm enough up on my deck and out of the wind to sit and enjoy the sunshine for a while.
Back in The Caboose, I made coffee and fixed us all breakfast which none of the dogs ate. I do not mind them not eating except in Sandy’s case, it means she does not get her heart medication. I worked on the blog for a while and considered if I should make that trip into town to HEB.
I looked in the fridge and it was pretty empty, which decided me that I really did need to go shopping. I put together a list and hopped in the car after saying goodbye to the dogs and made the short 11 mile trip to HEB. The store was not very crowded, and I wandered around doing my usual shopping thing. I had a list which is more of a guide than something fixed in stone. One of the most important stops was at the beer section where I bought beer for both Daniel and Malinda and this time, added the girls as they are always having get togethers where we drink beer. Like I have said many times before and at the risk of repeating myself, I cannot cook so my contribution to the war effort is to buy beer. Sorry, that should read, food effort.
Back in The Caboose, the dogs helped to put the groceries away exploring every bag as I put it on the floor. Then I transferred the goodies to the different cabinets and refrigerator so at least, we had something to eat other than what Daniel, Malinda and the girls supplied.
Later on, in the afternoon, we all gathered over at the Breakroom to eat Bow Tie Festival that Malinda had cooked. It was delicious and I had to refuse seconds even though offered. The party started to break up and there were only four of us left, Daniel and Malinda, Delores and me. We sat and chatted and drank beer until Delores said it was time to go. She would not let me walk her home and I refused her offer to do the same. I had 40 yards and she had 65 yards to walk home, and we both made it OK. Incidentally, before I left to go to the party, I remembered to turn on my awning lights to light the way back to the RV.
We sat and watched a movie and then went to bed around 9:00 pm.
