The propane went out in the night as it always seems to do. I cannot remember ever changing out bottles after it goes out through the day. I put on my tracksuit and heavy jacket and went outside just to switch over the gas. I did not intend to do the whole gambit of changing out the bottles until it was daylight and so this time, just switched to the new bottle and beat it back indoors where eventually, it would warm up.
The heat kicked back in and even before we could harness up for that first walk, Daniel stuck his head out of the Breakroom to invite me over for breakfast. Telling the dogs to “hold it”, I walked over to be met by most of the usual group. We sat and ate normal breakfast stuff and then sat around drinking coffee and chatting about everything under the sun. I’ll bet that given time, we could have solved the World’s problems.
Eventually, we all went our separate ways and then it was the dogs turn for attention as we wandered around the park. It was chilly out and we had to keep moving to stay warm, but we only covered 6/10 of a mile and needed to make that up on the afternoon walk.
While I was gone, Gary and Daniel had rehooked up the water and we had running water back in the RV although no hot water. The new hose is supposed to be here tomorrow so we will be ready for the next cold front due next week.
Back in The Caboose, I worked on the blog and brought it up to date and outside, it turned into a damp day which did not bother me too much until it was walkies time. We really did not do very much except sit around for a lot of the day. By the time it was walkies time. It had turned quite miserable out with intermittent drizzles of rain, enough to make a person wet.
Finally, it started to get dark, and I harnessed up the dogs determined that we would get in one circuit of the park and maybe make our magic number of at least a mile. It was cold and drizzly out as we walked around but we managed our minimum number of steps for the day. Back in The Caboose, I brought in the bird feeders just remembering in time before we closed the door for the evening.
Then it was the usual feed the dogs for the evening and then me and then watch something on the TV for the rest of the time.

Living in an RV Henly RV Park Monday January 22, 2024
I must have slept particularly well as I awoke with a start and wondered where I was. My senses returned to normal, and I glanced at the clock which said 3:00 am. I rolled over and tried to go back to sleep but it took a while. It was nice and warm and cuddly though under the covers with the dogs.
I woke up around 8:00 am and lay there for a while before summoning up enough energy to actually get up. Once out of bed, everything went smoothly although my back and shoulders were sore. I noticed that we did not have any hot water. Nothing but cold and I sure as heck was not going to shower in that. Oh well, the dogs do not complain about what I smell like, that is if I do.
We harnessed up and I brought out the bird feeders. It was raining light misty stuff but enough to get wet. I need to stop at Tractor Supply and buy more seed and you can be sure it will not be the same as what we just bought. The price was right, but the birds tossed out over half of it which the deer managed to clean up.
We went out for that first walk but it was cold and wet, and we only went .02 of a mile. Once around the block, maybe. enough to drop off the trash bag. Then it was full speed ahead to get back into the warmth of The Caboose.
I fixed breakfast all around. The dogs had their usual and I decided that a bowl of porridge would hit the spot for me, which it did. Plus, I drank tea instead of coffee for no particular reason. It began to clear up although still a damp and miserable day and not one to be outside for any reason, other than walkies.
We adjourned back indoors and worked on the blog with no plans unless I go grocery shopping.
I did go shopping but not of the grocery kind. This time, I drove to Tractor Supply and picked out a different kind of bird seed, hopefully one that the birds actually eat instead of throwing it around all over the place. They must have wasted half of each 35lb bag. The original stuff had a lot of cracked corn which the smaller birds toss out. The deer usually clean it up, but I am not in the business of feeding deer by choice, only birds.
When I got back, we went out walking again around the park. The past couple of times, I had forgotten my phone which is not a clever thing to do in case something happens on our walk besides not being able to keep track of our mileage. Needless to say, I forgot it again and decided to keep walking. We have walked the same route over and over and know how much it is in distance.
We went back to The Caboose for the usual evening’s meals all around and then I watched television before going to bed.
