Living in an RV Henly RV Park Wednesday 04/24/2024

It was a somewhat dull and overcast day with rain in the wind. The deck was wet with standing water, and I could feel the rain on my face, but it was not actually pouring down. I brought out the feeders except for the two big ones and they are in the storage bin never again to see the light of day. Well, OK, maybe in a couple of weeks we will try again and by then, the Grackles may have moved on. I guess I could always buy a couple more of the pipe feeders as the Grackles do not like them.

With the feeders out for another day, we went out on our first walk and covered ¾ of a mile before returning for breakfast and coffee. I did two loads of laundry yesterday. One was the regular one of clothes and such collected up over the past couple of weeks. The other were the bed sheets that I also had changed out. I spent some time folding and putting the clothes and sheets away.

Then it was breakfast time and I found something to eat after first feeding the dogs. The coffee did its usual lifesaving work, and I was ready to go. I worked on the blog and then James, the RV Repair man showed up to fix the hot water heater.

He worked mostly indoors and among other things, discovered a leak under the sink. He spent all his time stretched out on the floor with his head and shoulders buried in one of the cupboards. Eventually, he had the problem fixed and waited a while to make sure that everything was OK and that the water was hot.

Satisfied that the water was heating on electricity he packed up all his tools and was on his way to the next project. I had written him a check and thanked him profusely for his efforts today. Incidentally, it seems that there is always something that goes wrong in an RV. It may only be minor and just aggravating or serious like ours was this last time. I count not having hot water as serious only because I do not like taking cold showers…

I turned my attention back to the blog and worked on bringing it up to date. While I was waiting for James to do his thing, I had caught up with everything including posting the last three versions. So, today is a good day both with having the hot water fixed and the blog up to date.

We went out for another walk around the park and managed to cover 1.2 miles for the day. Not as good as what we have been doing lately but something. Gotta keep those legs moving for both me and the dogs.

The rest of the day was spent in the usual way, sitting on the deck watching the world go by, feeding the dogs, sitting on the deck watching the world go by, drinking wine, sitting on the deck watching the world go by and on and on until it was time to bring in the feeders and shut up shop outdoors.

Then, we adjourned back indoors for the evening meal and to watch a soccer match before going to bed.
