Living in an RV Henly RV Park Monday 05/06/2024

I slept very well and did not want to get out of bed. I kept saying to myself, “Five more minutes, just five more minutes”. I managed to stretch those concurrent fine minutes out to a half hour or so before rolling out of bed.

The ball of my right foot was very sore for some reason, but I could walk on it if I was careful. I have no idea what I did to it this time. Always something as I grow old. At least I am doing just that as many of my friends have already passed on so I shouldn’t really complain too much. The trouble is that when I am dead and gone there will be nobody to complain to.

We went out walking around the park and covered a little over a half mile. It was another dull and grey day, but it did not feel like rain, at least not on that first walk.

Back in the RV, I hitched the dogs so they could watch as I brought out the bird feeders. Gary stopped by and we chatted as I worked. He is such a nice Gentleman. I am going to miss him when he moves back to Mississippi which is supposed to be some time later this year.

We went back indoors, and I fixed breakfast which neither dog ate. I only ate half of the burrito that had warmed up for myself and the dogs did not want what was left. I really need to look at my food situation to see just what does appeal to me, which currently is not much. Thank Goodness for coffee but unfortunately, man can’t live on coffee alone…

I wrote in the blog bringing it up to date and then looked around for something else to get up to. It seems that every day is the same with me. Lots of activity in the morning and then looking for something to do in the afternoon.

I got over the problem by driving into town to the HEB located there. I managed to walk up and down the aisles and found pretty much of what I needed except Marmite. When I asked, the clerk said they don’t carry it so I must have bought the last one at Walmart’s. Well, it looks like I have another trip into Austin in my future. No telling when though.

I found everything else that was on my list and a few other things that were not. All necessities at least in my book. Thank goodness that lists are flexible and are not cast in stone…

The drive home was easy with not too much traffic, and I was greeted by my two little dogs who immediately buried their noses in the bags for the smells. Then they “helped” me put the groceries away so to thank them, we went out walking around the park. We ran into Olive, the bull terrier with Greg tagging along behind. Olive was snuffling and snorting away as she greeted my dogs. She is one funny little girl.

Back in the RV, we sat outside for a while mainly because my feet, which had been giving me trouble, were hurting again. Eventually, we moved back indoors, and I fed the dogs and then myself.

The rest of the evening was spent watching Brighton win their game against West Ham before going to bed around 10:00 pm.
