Living in an RV Henly RV Park Saturday January 10th, 2026

I got up early for me and after throwing on some clothes, took the dogs out walking. It was a very breezy and chilly day, and I was glad that I had on a jacket. We did the usual wander around the campground but did not see anyone else out walking.

It was cold enough that we didn’t stay out very long and was glad to get back inside the RV where it was nice and warm. I had the fireplace going along with the two space heaters that I use for such occasions as I am having problems with the RV’s heating system. Always something…

I fixed the dogs breakfast to eat and myself a coffee and buckled down to write the blog. I was only a day behind, and it didn’t take long to bring everything up to date as nothing much had happened to write about which is the way I like it.

It was cold enough that we did a lot of sitting around when in reality, I should have been outside looking for the missing keys. It supposed to get a bit warmer so I can do the looking then.

Oh yes, I am having trouble with my right knee, the one that has already lost a lot of cartilage due to all of the soccer and using that as my major kicking leg. It is very painful to walk on, so I won’t be doing any key searching today. If it doesn’t get better by tomorrow, there is a trip to my doctor in the immediate future.

It was a quiet Saturday with no trips to the Restaurant, darn it. Just a lot of sitting around nursing my knee and feeling very sorry for myself. I really am such a whimp!

Living in an RV Henly RV Park Sunday January 11th, 2026

When I awoke this morning, my right knee was extremely painful, and I had trouble walking around. Consequently, the morning dog walk was very short but enough for them to do their business. Then I was back in the RV moaning and complaining to no one in particular about my sore knee. The dogs certainly paid no attention unless I cussed out loud and then they kind of gave me “the look”.

We didn’t cover very far on account of me hurting and I was glad to be back in the RV where I could sit around cursing at no one in particular and feeling sorry for myself. I really am a wimp in my old age. When I was a soccer player, I used to get kicked all the time and apart from telling the other guy where to get off, or working in a sneak kick on him, just accepted it as a part of the game. Now, I couldn’t even kick a ball let alone another player. I suppose it’s to be expected with my 90th birthday coming up in a couple of days. The knee sure has impeded any activity that I might want to get up to and the search for the missing keys is now delayed.

At least, that is what I thought. But not to be discouraged, I figured I would take one more look around the outside of the RV. And there they were and I have never been so pleased to find something. Altogether, there are six keys on the ring for the RV and the Jeep You can bet that I will definitely get a second set made as I don’t want to push my luck, again. One reason for not having that second set before was because after that Jeep was totaled in last winter’s ice storm, it slipped my mind when I bought another, new to me, Jeep. The 90-year-old grey cells just aren’t what they used to be.

I was communicating with James in the hope of finding a cure for the rats. He is currently tied up on another project and will get to us as soon as he can. He seems to think that having bird seed either in hangers or loose in bags is the reason for the rats. I sure hope not as I like feeding the birds.

I spent some time in The Commons visiting with Peggy who has officially retired from her job on the school busses. Her partner in crime, BJ is also retiring in just a few days after something like close to 30 years as a bus driver. They also plan on moving away from this park to Peggy Sons property in Gonzalez in a couple of months. Gona miss them. That will leave just Delores and me from the original group.

Back in the RV, it was time to feed the dogs and find something for myself before watching television and going to bed.

Hi Pete. Not sure what is going on my end, but I have been having program problems and have reverted to my original email address of fallcorn@att.net. Try it and then use this address to let me know you have sent so that I can be on the lookout.
