Me making an idiot of myself. The wonderful lady putting up with me is BJ.
After much contemplation, I decided that we had lazed around long enough. In fact, I had a very restless night and had a badly upset tummy resulting in spending more time on the John than I wanted. I think that the small bottles of wine are the guilty party causing the upset tummy Guess I need to lay off of those for a while or suffer the consequences. Darn, not much left in the way of luxuries.
The gas bottle had emptied through the night and the first thing was to switch to bottle number two, which is just a question of turning a knob and a lever. I have three bottles on the RV, one in use and right next to it a fully filled one ready to switch over when the first one runs out. There is also a third bottle standing under the RV which is always full in case of real emergencies. Only one bottle is in use at a time.
I got into the shower which helped a little before harnessing up the dogs after wishing them a Very Merry Christmas and telling them I loved them. Sandy did not care as all she wanted was to get out and about. Mikey looked at me as though he understood but, in his case, I know he loves me in his doggy way. We managed to cover a mile on that first walk, which was a good way to start the day which, incidentally, was a lot colder.
When we got back, I brought out the feeders including the new one that Malinda and Daniel had given me which has taken a place of honor hanging off the deck. The birds will have to work a little harder on this one. I sat and wrote the blog bringing us up to date. As I watched through the course of the afternoon, we were besieged by a flock of Sparrows. They descended on the feeders and the seed just literally vanished. Oh well…
We went out for another walk and took Henly Loop all the way to Hwy 290. There were no exotics and not much else to look at. Even the traffic was just a single car. Altogether we covered almost 2 miles for the day.
Back in the RV, the first thing was to bring in all the bird feeders for the night except the ones on the top deck which I leave out. There are a couple of big ones in the trees and out of the reach of the deer that are left out all the time.
With all the outside chores taken care of for the day, we went inside, and I fixed the dogs their food in the hope they might eat it. Much to my surprise, they both did.
I found a pork chop with beans and potato salad for myself, and we settled in for the evening. The dogs started barking and Peggy appeared on the steps. She was just visiting and true to form, brought me a beer. We sat and chatted for a half hour or so and she eventually left to go back to her RV.
I went back to the meal I had started on before Peggy arrived and finished it off as we relaxed for the rest of the evening watching an English Premier League game. What else?
