Living in an RV Henly RV Park Tuesday 01/30/2024

This is the thanks the deer give me for feeding them…

I slept well as did the dogs as they hardly moved through the night. Me, I had to get up for the usual bathroom breaks that result from a gotta go feeling without peeing very much. The bane of old men…Towards morning, I lay there awake contemplating on things I need to do and as they usually do, such thinking made me fall asleep again resulting in getting up around 9:30 am. Not that it matters as I have nothing planned.

I harnessed up the dogs and brought them outside. I had managed to forget to bring in the feeders last evening and needless to say, the deer has completely emptied them. So, with the dogs tied up so they could watch, I refilled all the feeders including the ones hanging in the trees. I had to literally pick a couple up off the ground where the deer had knocked them off the hangers. Still, only one had some minor damage but they were both very empty.

With the seed replenished, we went out for that all important first walk and just wandered around the park before taking the outside road towards the massive Oak Tree. We managed to walk exactly a mile for the morning walk. Funny, it always seems so much further when I am doing the walking.

Back in the RV, I fixed the dog’s breakfast first before finding something for me to eat along with that all important coffee. Incidentally, breakfast is becoming a problem as nothing tastes good anymore, not even coffee. I may even have to resort to drinking tea, the good old English drink.

Then as we usually do, I worked on the blog to bring it up to date. I had a couple of household chores to do like emptying the black tank and a couple of other equally obnoxious but necessary things. I had some easy things too like coiling the spare hose and putting it away and folding up the dust cover that I use to cover various things when it is freezing. The extended forecast for this month is that there is no frosty weather in the forecast at all. Hope that is true as I have already had my share of cold weather. I’ll put up with 100 degrees any day.

We sat around and listened to an Audiobook this time indoors so as not to disturb my neighbors with the small speaker that I have. Apparently, it can be heard around the park if I have it too high. The problem is that it is not on high to me, and I have difficulty hearing it. I have an upcoming ear appointment with the Audiologist on Thursday so maybe I can get the hearing aids adjusted.

We went out for another walk late in the afternoon after doing a lot of sitting around doing absolutely nothing except to listen to the Audiobook and managed to cover 1.6 miles for the day. It ended in the usual fashion of food all around and a couple of tiny bottles of wine for me along with the evening meal and we were in bed by 9:00 pm.
