Life at the Park 02/26/2024 

It must be said when I am dead 
no one will remember me 
I am not rich or famous 
and will not go down in history 
I lived my life the best I know 
being honest to the core 
three times I tried the marriage thing 
until I said, “No more”. 
quite obviously it was plain to see 
that wives and I don’t mix 
and so I spent the rest of my days 
my ways all set and fixed 
although I like the opposite sex 
as friends like people do 
my dogs are my companions now 
at least they have no clue 
and love me for what I am 
and anything I do 
as we go out walking around the park 
just the dogs and then me too.
